CES Touch v8.8 ReleasedTouch Version 8.8 is now available to download from the dealer area of the CES website. Version 8.8 focuses on reliability, resilience and ease of use, to make your life easier. Key features and benefits of version 8.8 include: Customer Accounts ModuleBy combining Customer and Accounts into a single module, we make things less complicated for both customer and dealers alike. We have also added a number of enhancements to the new combined module such as user defined fields. Resilience to Network OutagesTouch's ability to drop into an offline mode in the event of a network failure (UNC) has been substantially improved in 8.8 so that Touch detects changes to the network and works with the user to decide what they want to do. Retry the network? Go into Stand Alone mode? Touch also detects when the network becomes available again, enabling the user to get back to a fully working system seamlessly. Graphical Screen DesignerWe have added a drag and drop screen designer that transforms the process of configuring Touch's highly flexible screen layouts. Multiple screen layouts can be created intuitively in minutes, changed and rearranged in seconds when required. Error HandlingMany data issues are now fixed by the system on the fly. In the event of a serious problem, Touch can send detailed error reports directly to CES. Error messages can be emailed to the dealer. The problem may be being fixed even before the user reports it. Network Setup ToolThe process of configuring a multi till network is greatly simplified with a new wizard to guide the engineer through setting up the system, and automatically configuring the data sharing. Slave tills will search for and connect to their master automatically, saving valuable setup time and ensuring an acccurate and reliable setup. |
